AMETHYST FOR SHANI

 It is a Semi-stone (up-Ratna) of Saturn. In it  we look for strength or gaiety of color, purple  to violet, violet red, flawlessness, even  distribution of color.

It is also known as Jamunia & is worn in the phase of Saturn instead of Blue Sapphire (Neelam).

CITRINE SUNELA OR GOLDEN TOPAZ

It is semi-stone (up-ratna) of Brihaspati, the wearer is protected from fear while asleep. It is a light golden yellow or reddish yellow variety of crystalline quartz. It is a transparent stone & may be mistaken for Topaz Yellow Sapphire due to its close resemblance in appearance. It can be easily distinguished from Topaz on account of its softness & lighter density.

GARNET (TAMDA)

It changes jts color, if it becomes dark-blue it is good omen, if it becomes green it is medium, but if it becomes yellow it is a bad omen. It is a good sign of friendship & regarded a good sign if presented by some other person. If threads appear in it, it is a sign of enemity. In order to detect a real or unreal stone its surface should be spiral khurdari & not plain.  A real stone is rarely available from 5 to 10 percent.

MALACHITE (KIDNEY STONE) DANE- FIRANG

It is non-transparent & of cloudy deep color. It believes kidney pain. Quicker results are obtained by forming a paste of the stone by rubbing it in rose water & taking it internally or applying the paste by rubbing it in water, on the kidney. The stone on which this gem is rubbed must be very hard. Second alternative is that it should be put in water in the night & drink this  water in morning in large quantity.

NEELI: SPINEL BLUE COLOR

It is a semi-stone (up-ratna) of Saturn.  It can be used in place of Blue Sapphire. If some one is unable to purchase Blue Sapphire, he can purchase this stone instead which gives similar result to a certain extent. Spinel Blue is four times superior then Amethyst.

ZADE-YASHAVE-SANGE-SAM

It  is  very  useful  in  stomach  &  kidney troubles. If it is worn along with Gomed it gives much relief in kidney stones. It is reduced to   superfine powder in rose water; jade is prescribed for heart troubles & has been found to be most effective.

 ZIRCON FOR VENUS

 As zircon appears like a diamond it is considered a up ratna of Venus. Being a soft stone it generally spoils on wearing. White Zircon is found in Thailand while coloured ones in Sri Lanka.

According to my practical experience, Zircon wearing persons are never found claiming that the stone is effective. Instead, Aquamarine, blue Topaz and Tourmaline stones have been found more effective. Secondly, White Zircons look alike American Diamonds (Imitation Diamond). Some traders take advantage of this and offer their customers American Diamond in place of Zircons.
